Everyone loves the summer – the weather’s nice (well, not always in the UK…!), bright evenings, places are buzzing – but Autumn can actually be one of the best seasons to visit Worcestershire. Here’s why…
All seasons have their own character, but Autumn in Worcestershire is simply stunning.
From looking over the Malvern Hills and seeing beautiful reds and oranges to strolling through one of the many picturesque towns and villages, Autumn is most definitely unique.
Obviously, a walk up the Malvern Hills is a great way to see the beauty of this time of year, and thanks to our great value Malvern Walking Break package you can do so in the best possible way. But you could also hire a Morgan sports car and see the sights by road, rather than foot. Made right here in Malvern just a few miles from the Bank House Hotel, there’s nothing quite as exhilarating as driving one of the most iconic cars around the great driving roads of Malvern and Worcestershire.
While summer might be the busy season, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on in Autumn.
The Malvern Autumn Show gets Autumn underway on 28th and 29th September and this year is its 25th anniversary. With its fantastic array of shows, displays and food and drink options, this year sees the introductions of the Gin Show – not to be missed for Gin lovers.
Into October and Halloween is always great in Worcestershire. Worcester City Arm Gallery & Museum, The Commandery, Hanbury Hall & Gardens, and Croome Court have all got great spooky activities from Ghost Walks and Trails to Pumpkin Scooping and other fun-filled family activities.
Everyone looks forwards to Guy Fawkes’ Night and there’s always some great firework displays in Worcester. Most venues haven’t quite announced their displays yet, but watch out for Sixways Stadium, Worcester Racecourse and The Lenchford Inn.
And just to get you thinking about Christmas, make sure you don’t miss the wonderful The Worcester Christmas Lights Switch On, which takes place just before Winter sets in on Thursday 21st November this year.
Everyone wants to make the most of the summer, which is great, but it means you have to wait in line somewhat – your favourite restaurant, that must-see activity or just having to get amongst the hustle and bustle.
In Autumn, there’s fewer tourists in Worcester so you don’t have to wait so long to get into any of the great local attractions.
You can also get a round of golf at our Bransford Golf Club slightly easier. Bransford Golf Club is popular all year round, but it’s naturally busiest in the sunny summer months. There’s nothing quite like a round of golf surrounded by the stunning Malvern Hills at this most picturesque time of year. You don’t have to be a member to play, head over to our Golf pages to find out more.
If you’re planning a trip to Worcestershire this Autumn, take advantage of our great range of offers for an overnight at the Bank House Hotel.
