Garden Room Restaurant undergoes major refurbishment

The Garden Room Restaurant at the Bank House Hotel, Spa & Golf Club has completed its major refurbishment and is fully open for guests.

Based in the idyllic Worcestershire countryside in Bransford, diners at the Garden Room Restaurant will be treated to stunning views of the hotel’s picturesque gardens and the iconic Malvern View Hills, all while enjoying delicious food and exceptional service in a relaxed and modern environment.

Seating 100, the Garden Room Restaurant became the hotel’s primary dining area in June 2020 following the hotel’s re-opening after lockdown closures. The spacious room was more suited to social distancing requirements at the time. It was converted to a full-time restaurant with the former Pear Tree Brasserie becoming a multi-purpose function room.

This major refurbishment began in June 2022, with costs of nearly £200k, and has combined various stages to allow the work to be conducted with minimal disruption to visitors.

The new-look restaurant features an upmarket bar area for pre and post dinner drinks and cocktails, a heated buffet station used for breakfast and private events, solid oak tables and plush upholstered chairs, as well as a private eight-seat booth and two window bays directly overlooking the terrace and garden. There is also a 10-metre-long bench seat that can be utilised for larger groups for up to 25.

A bespoke two-metre-tall Olive Tree was installed as part of the final phase of the refurb and acts as the main centrepiece of the restaurant. It is enclosed by luxury benched seating for a unique dining experience.

Guests visiting the Malvern View Spa for spa days are also now able to visit the Garden Room Restaurant for their lunch or afternoon tea far more easily and quickly, thanks to a new access route that was installed as part of the development work.

Adam Richards, General Manager of the Bank House Hotel, Spa & Golf Club, said: “This is another exciting development for the Bank House. There has been significant investment in all areas of the business in the recent years, from the guest rooms, function rooms and public areas of the hotel to the Malvern View Spa and Bransford Golf Club.

“It is great to now have a restaurant that pushes our overall offering to guests even further and to another level in terms of appearance, as well as the quality of food and service we provide.”

Christmas celebrations will be taking place in the Garden Room Restaurant this year with Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day all being hosted in the newly refurbished restaurant.

The Bank House Hotel has also seen record popularity for festive bookings in 2022. With Christmas events cancelled in 2020 and severely restricted in 2021, the hotel’s Festive Party and Tribute Nights have completely sold out this year.

Adam added: “Following more than two years of uncertainty in the hospitality industry, it has been a very welcome return to somewhat near normal trading this December. We’ve had more than 1,500 guests through our doors for our party nights alone this festive period, which is an incredible achievement from everyone.

“There’ve been some fantastic events this year… Bruce Game’s Queen Tribute Night proved hugely popular and sold-out months prior, while the amazing Bootleg ABBA and 27Party! are always a hit with our guests following success in previous years.”

The Garden Room Restaurant welcomes local diners as well as hotel guests and is available for Festive Dining bookings throughout December. There is availability for bookings on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, which can be booked online at bankhouseworcester.com/christmas.
