It’s Safe To Play

Bransford Golf Club in Worcester has successfully received the SafeGolf accreditation from England Golf ahead of re-opening on Monday 29 March.

After being closed for several months due to the national Coronavirus lockdown, the team at Bransford Golf Club and the Bank House Hotel have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure all golfers can play safely again once permitted to do so.

SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf.

The SafeGolf partnership consists of members from the golfing bodies across Great Britain & Ireland and has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf.

Alongside the website, www.safegolf.org, where anyone can report a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, it also provides a safeguarding standard for England Golf. This standard will ensure all clubs provide a safe and positive experience to children and young people whilst playing golf. The PGA are also using the standards to apply to all their PGA professional Coaches.

Adam Richards, General Manager of the Bank House Hotel, Spa & Golf Club commented on receiving the accreditation saying: “I think we can all agree that everyone should be able to play golf in a safe environment and as a family run hotel Spa & Golf Club, we want to promote that as much as anyone.

“The SafeGolf accreditation firmly promotes the philosophies that we believe in here at the Bank House and we’re delighted to be able to show that Bransford Golf Club is safe for all.”

Bransford Golf Club re-opens on Monday 29 March, initially to members only. Pre-booking will be required as demand is likely to be high. The club will aim to re-open to non-members from Monday 26 April, subject to demand and availability.
