Valentine’s Day is a wonderful chance to show the one you love just how much you care. Think chocolates, flowers, tickets to see their favourite football team play or, our favourite choice, a simple stroll in the British countryside. Wrap yourself up in your warmest coat, hat, scarf and gloves and head outside for some fresh air this February and indulge in some quality time together this Valentine’s Day in Worcester.
Staying at our hotel in Malvern and unsure of your surroundings? We’ve got your Valentine’s Day in Worcester covered. Here are the top sights to look out for on your stroll around this picturesque part of the world.
Croome
You cannot head to this beautiful part of the UK without visiting Croome. A National Trust property boasting fantastic views of the Malvern Hills, Croome Court was once a secret wartime base. Great for long, romantic walks and for exploring the history of the area, make sure to venture to the south of Worcester for this must-see.
Herefordshire Beacon
9 miles from our Worcester hotel and you will find yourself atop one of Malvern’s most statuesque hills, Herefordshire Beacon. Thought to have originally been built as a ritual site, it is then unknown as to whether it was used as a castle or hunting lodge. Either way, this hill is steeped in centuries of history and provides wonderful views – picturesque Valentine’s proposal perhaps?
St Ann’s Well
A natural spring that is said to have been dedicated to Anu, a Celtic water goddess, due to its believed curative capabilities, it’s well worth stopping at St. Ann’s Well – if only to pause for a moment at the intimate café where you can enjoy some delicious tea and cake.
The British Camp
An Iron Age hill fort with impressive earthworks that have, in the past, been compared to a giant wedding cake – this spectacular sight is perched atop one of the picturesque Malvern hills. It is definitely worth the trek up to the top.
