Our dedicated Wedding team are always on hand to answer any questions you may have about your wedding or potential wedding at the Bank House Hotel, Spa & Golf Club. 

However, we’ve answered some of our most Frequently Asked Questions below.

How do I arrange to see the venue?

Alternatively, you can call the sales office on 01886 833551 option 2 for “sales and events department” and make an appointment with one of our wedding coordinators

How can I reserve the venue?

You will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500.00 to secure your wedding date. Your wedding coordinator will be in touch with you to send the updated contract. Your contract will need to be signed and returned to the sales office allowing your booking to then be contracted. Please make sure you read the terms and conditions carefully.

Registry Office?

We ask this is checked and secured before you book your wedding. We would require a copy of your booking for our file. Please do check that you have also booked your date with the local registry office or Church.

When do you see the Registrars on your wedding day?

If you are getting married at the hotel the groom will need to be on site 1 hour before your wedding to speak with the registrars in a private area. The Bride will be seen 15 minutes before the wedding after the groom in her room just before the wedding.

Do we need Wedding Insurance?

We would highly recommend you take out wedding insurance for your special day. We don’t have any personal recommendations but do suggest you look around for the best quote.

How do we pay for our wedding?

We would require a deposit of £500.00 to secure your big day. Following on from this we would require 50% of your wedding balance 6 months before your wedding date, final balance is required 1 month prior. Once you have paid your final balance we do not refund if your numbers reduce. We accept all forms of credit cards, debit cards and BACS payment. We do not unfortunately accept cash. To pay your deposit you can do this via reception or through the sales office.

What about the Bride & Groom’s Accommodation?

If you have booked accommodation for your wedding, please ensure this is settled directly with reservations or reception. Your bedroom will not show in the costing section of your contract.

Guest Accommodation how do they book in?

If any guests wish to stay please ask them to book their accommodation as soon as possible with our reservations department. This is booked directly through reception / reservations. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you book this early.

When will we have a wedding meeting after we have booked?

We understand that you will have much to discuss with regards to your wedding with us. For your wedding journey your wedding coordinator will arrange with you two wedding meetings prior to your wedding day.

Your first wedding meeting will be approximately 6 months before your wedding date, your wedding coordinator will contact you to arrange this at a suitable time. This will be a catchup meeting and to update any details that will be known so far. This will also be a good opportunity to advise on any external suppler details that have been booked, a chance to re visit the venue rooms subject to availability and run over the plan for the day.

The second wedding meeting would be a handover meeting with your wedding coordinator and the event manager looking after you on the day. We would ask you to arrange this with us at a suitable time that suits you both together. We would ask this is arranged in plenty of time before your big day. This is the final meeting so a chance to run over the entire wedding day and all the small details needed and how you plan your special day to go. We would suggest you book this in with us a month to two months prior to your wedding.

How do I order my wedding breakfast?

How do I order my wedding breakfast? We will have provided a wedding banqueting menu for you to choose your three-course wedding breakfast. The Bank House Hotel offer’s three meal choices Bronze, Silver and Gold. These courses are at the set prices for the set three courses based on the entire wedding party choosing the same starter – main – desert. Please choose one starter, one main and one desert for the entire wedding party form either the Bronze, Silver or Gold menu.

Do you allow outside caterers

We ask that if you book your wedding with us that you book a minimum of the Bronze menu three courses. We do not accept outside caters.

Do you offer a Wedding Food Tasting?

Included in your wedding package is a complimentary wedding tasting for the Bride & Groom only. Please enquire with your wedding coordinator for further details and to book this.

How many guests can we seat per table for our wedding breakfast?

We can work your table plan to your numbers. We are able to offer different sized tables for however many numbers you have per table. Once you have decided on your table plan please inform us of any dietaries and high chairs. Please confirm this at your catch up meeting.

Who looks after our wedding music?

Please ensure you select four songs for your wedding ceremony. These can be saved on a memory stick and brought to your handover meeting. On the day your event manager will arrange your music as previously agreed.

When can I start setting up our wedding?

If you would like to arrive at the hotel the day prior to your wedding to start to set up this is possible however we would ask you to call the hotel five days before hand to see if your venue room is available.

Can we have exclusive use of the garden for our drinks reception?

Should you have booked your drinks reception to be outside in our hotel garden please note this is not on an exclusive use basis and other guest can use this area.

Do you allow a wedding cards post boxes?

If you are having a wedding card post box allocate someone to look after this and that it is locked away at some point during your wedding. Many guests do post money or valuable gifts, and we would not be responsible should any items go missing.

What extras can I add the night before my wedding?

Please let the hotel know if you wish to book a table the night before your wedding. This can be arranged via reception, or this can be booked via OpenTable. We have a wonderful spa please do contact them directly to make any treatments or spa usage. This is subject to availability so please do book this early to avoid disappointment.

What’s your Open Flame Policy?

Although we prefer flameless candles, we do allow candles in the building. Placing of traditional candles must be approved by the venue manager to ensure nothing is placed in a dangerous position relative to anything flammable.

What options are there for Breakfast on the morning of our wedding?

If you wish to take breakfast in your suite the morning of your wedding, please arrange this on check in with reception. There will be a £5.00 tray charge.

Do you allow confetti, sparklers, birdseed, flower petals etc. to be thrown at the event?

Environmentally friendly confetti of flower petals are welcome, but we are not able to accommodate bird seed or sparklers.

Do we allow fireworks?

We do allow fireworks due to the proximity of the hotel to our local neighbours we do have to give them two months’ notice and inform them in writing. Please advise us as soon as possible if you wish to have fireworks at your wedding reception. Please note an additional charge will apply.

External Suppliers

If you have a photographer or any external suppliers booked, we suggest if they have not been to us before to pop along and take a look prior to your special day, they can familiarise themselves on the venue and where you would like your photos taken. We would require a public liability insurance certificate for any external suppliers that need electric and this needs to cover up to 2 million. Please advice if you are hiring an external dance floor and do not require our in-house dance floor.

External Supplier Food Requirements

If you are feeding your external suppliers, we are happy to offer them a sandwich and chips at the cost £12.00 per head.
